A special art piece of African fabric. With its natural colours and interesting pattern it creates an interesting piece.

The Shoowa people are from a small tribe of Congo (Kuba). The making of these cloths have been a tradition of hundreds of years. Originally, these cloths were woven by men and embroidered by the women. The cloths were meant to represent the wealth from their families. Within Shoowa, there were different groups. Every group had a different way to approach their cloths. Some made it thicker, shorter, or with various patterns. Each symbol has a different meaning and topic. It could be religious story, a currency, to show off their status or presented as a dowry.
